VB GIVES

We want everyone, everywhere to thrive.

Capitalism can be ugly.
We're trying to be better.

Social impact is a core part of our values. We try our best to help those in need. One action that we take is making charitable donations to organizations that work to cure diseases, make scientific advancements, assist and mentor people, provide housing, and more.

In trying our best to be a good company and good people, we pledge to match donations made to the organizations on this page.

Why donate?

There are countless people in need of medical services, job seeking assistance, housing, counseling, love, and more.

Simply put, it works.

Studies show that donations have helped fuel scientific breakthroughs in treatments for cancers, mental illness, and more. People dedicate their lives to these causes, and they could use our help.
We're a small, family-owned company.

Improving communities is a core value for us.

Below are a few charities that we support.

Let us know if you donate - we will match it!

Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is a non-profit organization committed to the scientific research of psychedelic substances and marijuana. Established in 1986, MAPS plays an indispensable role in fostering informed and progressive public policies rooted in scientific evidence and harm reduction.

At the heart of MAPS' mission lies their innovative research into the therapeutic applications of psychedelics, with a specific focus on MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). By funding clinical trials, MAPS is charting the path for how psychedelic science can offer profound relief for individuals living with PTSD, providing immense relief to veterans and others who have experienced trama.

MAPS maintains an unwavering commitment to scientific integrity and a human-centric philosophy. Their chief focus is the advancement of science that mitigates human suffering and encourages wellbeing. MAPS' efforts foster an improved understanding of the complex issues surrounding psychedelics and their role in therapy, thereby shaping the discourse and informing the creation of evidence-based legislative policies.

Mahala’s Hope

Mahala’s Hope transforms lives through nature-based healing programs of recovery.

The vision of Mahala’s Hope is to offer women in recovery a better chance of success by providing a recovery residence specifically designed to address substance abuse and trauma. The facility teaches individual holistic health, how to care for one’s self, and how to live in healthy relationships with others.

Mahala’s Hope offers equine experiential workshops for a variety of groups in the region. Because horses are prey animals, they are very attuned to the energy and emotions of others. Their trust must be earned, making them ideal partners in self-discovery.

In addition to emotional recovery, equine experiential learning helps build leadership skills. Great leadership is based upon trust; horses respond to leaders that they trust. When the participant learns to project calm, positive energy, the horse reflects it back with a positive response. When these newly learn skills are applied in their daily lives, participants are able to realize their hidden potential.

The newly opened recovery residence provides women tools for addressing their past addiction, gives them safe coping skills, and teaches them how to live in light of their new-found sobriety.

The Malaria Consortium

The Malaria Consortium is an international non-profit organization with a mission to improve lives in Africa and Asia through sustainable, evidence-based programs that combat targeted diseases and promote child and maternal health. Central to their work is the prevention, control, and treatment of malaria—a disease which, despite being preventable and treatable, continues to cause substantial mortality and morbidity worldwide, particularly among children under five in sub-Saharan Africa.

One of the Malaria Consortium's flagship initiatives is their seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) program, which distributes preventive antimalarial medication to children in the Sahel region of Africa, where most malaria deaths occur. This program has been shown to be highly effective at reducing incidents of malaria.

GiveWell, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding and promoting the most effective charities to donors, highly rates the Malaria Consortium, particularly its SMC program. GiveWell's assessment focuses on several factors, including the evidence of a program's effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, transparency, and the potential for additional funding to extend the program's reach without diminishing its effectiveness.

The Malaria Consortium's SMC program has been recognized by GiveWell as one of the most cost-effective ways to save lives. The evaluation suggests that donations can have a substantial impact, allowing the Malaria Consortium to reach more children with lifesaving preventive treatments.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project is a leading American non-profit organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. The organization provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people under 25.

Founded in 1998, the Trevor Project offers a suite of crisis intervention and suicide prevention programs. These include TrevorLifeline, a 24/7 phone service that provides immediate support to LGBTQ youth in crisis; TrevorChat and TrevorText, digital messaging services providing live help; and TrevorSpace, an online, international peer-to-peer community for LGBTQ youth.

In addition, the Trevor Project conducts research to deepen understanding of the unique mental health challenges and risks faced by LGBTQ youth, and uses this knowledge to educate communities, policymakers, and the broader public.

The Trevor Project plays a vital role in providing lifesaving and life-affirming resources for LGBTQ youth, who statistically face higher risks for depression, anxiety, and suicide due to societal stigma, discrimination, and lack of supportive resources.
